RA severity: You will need a rheumatological evaluation for RA and yes, those tests can be expensive,; however will answer your question about severity. Try a course of otC Aleve (naproxen) ( 1 tab AM/PM on a full stomach if not allergic. Unfortunately the quantification of your disease severity needs blood and xray evaluation: hope this helps.
