RA: Prednisone certainly does have side effects. Sometimes inflammatory arthritis is significant enough that the Prednisone is necessary albeit not ideal. To help with your concerns i would discuss this with your rheumatologist and see if there are other medications you could explore as options but they will have their own side effect profile.
