REM behavior d/o: A diagnosis of REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) can be made by a neurologist or pulmonary sleep specialist after reviewing your medical history, performing an exam, and ordering a sleep study (polysomnogram). Keep a log of the events (eg timing, whether you inadvertently punch/kick your partner in bed, etc) and take it to your physician. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/sleepdisorders.html

Acting out dreams: The re-enactment of dreams is REM sleep behavior disorder, but that does not mean you have a serious illness, or have a risk of developing one. Some people with a neurological illness develop this as one of their symptoms, not the other way around. What to do about this? It depends on how much it bothers you. If it is rare, and you can avoid it with rest, all should be well.
