Remember: This is a question best answered by the physician who did the procedure. Most doctors have very specific protocols for post-procedural wound care. Please try to avoid relying on information from a doctor who was not directly involved in the procedure.

Ask the eye surgeon: Usually post surgical care instructions are provided by the operating surgeon and their team. For this minor procedure, performed recently, you should keep the patch until all bleeding or discharge and significant swelling has subsided and avoid any direct sun exposure or activity to cause eye strain or risk of injury to the area. Make sure to follow up with the surgeon and check pathology report

Eye meds: An incision & drainage of a chalazion usually requires a 7-10 day course of an antibiotic or antiobiotic-steroid eye drop medication. Occasionally cold compresses for a day to decrease swelling, & Tylenol (acetaminophen) or aleve for pain management. Keeping the eyelid clean is important. I will add back warm compresses after a week if there is a persisting nodule. The recovery is usually 2-4 weeks.
