A member asked:

Can high bilirubin and low b12 somehow be linked?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes,could be caused: by incomplete absorption of B12 or not enough B12 in the body. b12 allow red blood cells(RBC) to survive its 120 days; & if there isn't enough, rbc break down and are destroyed producing bilirubin: megaloblastic anemia. Decreased absorption of B12 caused by destruction of parietal cells, causing pernicious anemia. b12 is also stored in the liver so if u have a liver pathology, abnl levels occur.
