Are low iron levels and high bilirubin levels connected?

May be, may be not: Further evaluation is obviously needed. I can't say whether it is related or not without getting more information. In many cases- probably those two are not related. However in a case of colon cancer with metastatic disease to the liver- it can cause both increase of bilirubin level as well as low iron. Go to see your md and discuss further your condition.

My son is 21 yrs old. His iron is at 233 ug/dl. His bilirubin came back at 1.6 mg/dL. He does not take an iron suplt nor does he drink. Is this # high for someone his age? Would a person with leukemia come back with these numbers? It runs in family?
High values CBC exam?: RBC 5.86, Hg 18.9%, Ht 54.6%, Reticulocytes 2.4%, Ind Bilirubin 1.86, Total Bil 2.11, Iron 188, Iron Sat 55%. Full STD negative
I recently had my labs done for an annual physical and had my AST (66) . My AST (31), ALP (60), Bilirubin (.7), Proteins and Albumin (5.0). Lipids normal except high LDL (114). BMI is slightly under 30 Follow up showed normal HEP B, C and IRON?
Just got some labs back and wondering what the results could mean. Ferritin level is 919. Iron saturation 39.5. AST is 181. ALT is 84. Bilirubin .7?
