A member asked:

Why in the world would someone drink hot liquids when they have bronchitis? hot increases blood flow and inflammation. cold always helps me more.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and No.: Yes, hot may increase blood flow locally but it does not strictly produce inflammation. Hot primarily feels good to the throat which may be irritated with bronchitis. I doubt there is any effect on the bronchial passages. If cold works best for you it is certainly reasonable to do that instead.
