A member asked:

Is it irregular for a 25 year old male to get a prostate exam?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It depends on the reason for the exam. Younger patients are less likely to have prostate difficulties, so in this regard it may be unusual. However, if the patient has a family history or symptomatic complaints that raise the physician's index of suspicion, a digital rectal exam may be performed. http://www.uspreventiveservicestaskforce.org/prostatecancerscreening.htm
