Could be broken: pain this long after a fall might mean you broke a bone and it did not heal well, or that you had a bad sprain that is not healing. Talk to your doctor about x-rays, and physical therapy referral.

Sick Metatarsal.: Sounds to me like you are dealing with a stress fracture. Seven months seems a bit long, but then again, it is the fifth metatarsal and they can be real stinkers to heal. The periosteum may still have some sensitivity yet. An x-ray and possible MRI may be need to confirm the problem. If this is a slow healer, a bone stimulator may be necessary move the healing process along.
