I have a pretty intense pain on the outside of my left foot, aproximately on the 5th metatarsal. it hurts when i put pressure on it.

You're stressed out.: Pretty intense pain puts you in the area of either a stress fracture or all out fracture. Another symptom to consider is swelling in the area of the pain. It can be a pretty good indicator of the seriousness of the problem. Probably best to stay off the foot. Icing and elevating wouldn't hurt either. An x-ray would certainly be helpful as well as a cam walker to dissipate the force on the foot.
