Ankle pain: I do not know how long you have had the pain. If this is a new problem and you have injured your foot in some way I would get an xray. You say it is your ankle, but the doctor wants to put a shot in your foot. If so, it may be your doctor thinks you have plantar fasciitis.

GO BACK: Go back to your doctor and ask more questions, especially the specific diagnosis, and why they think a shot will help. Tell him/her your concerns. It's a fact; most patients don't ask enough questions of their doctor and we can't read minds. Sincerely, Dr. Latva
