Get workup-prevent.: Kidney stones CAN be prevented. Need testing of 24 hour urine collection for: pH, creatinine, calcium, oxalate, cystine, uric acid, phosphate, volume, protein, sodium, etc. Also renal ultrasound. Bad diarrhea cause may guide cause of kidney stone. Drink enough fluids to produce at least 2 and a half liter urine per day. A good nephrologist can guide so as to not have stones in the future.

Kidney stone sym. Haven't seen a doc yet as back, flank, belly pain is minor. Symptoms persist 7 days after onset but don't seem to get worse. Pain comes in waves with steady urination but is not debilitating. Is pain correlated to severity of case?
