Yes: usually carpal tunnel requires splinting or injection to ease up. Bad cases may require surgery they rarely improve on their own.

May be other factors: Pregnancy can be a major factor in carpal tunnel, but it is not the only one. Vitamin deficiencies, positioning of your hand/ wrists, repetitive use, thyroid issues, and other factors may influence as well. Try carpal tunnel wrist supports at night, and stretching. If you are not getting improvement see your MD.
