Men do not have: Men do not get bacterial vaginosis. They also do not carry the bacteria or transmit it. Recurrent BV is linked to intercourse though in that semen raises the vaginal pH allowing anaerobic bacteria in the vagina to grow. Your doctor can prescribe a variety of treatments to help treat recurrent BV

BV not from sex: There is no evidence that BV is sexually transmitted from partner to partner. It is due to change in normal vaginal flora often from antibiotics, douching, and other causes. You might have chronic BV, which can be difficult to treat and may need up to 6 months of treatment. Usually BV causes fishy odor, which is worse after sex. U may also have other cause for symptoms - See ur clinician.
