Sore nipples: Your child may be sucking too hard on your nipples and traumatizing them. Try using breast shields for protection. Also try to toughen your nippples by using Masse cream

Yeast/ thrush: If you successfully made it through the initial discomfort you have likely mastered having the baby latch on correctly. The most common cause of nipple soreness later in breast feeding would be thrush- a yeast issue. Your baby may have white spots in the mouth as well as your nipple being sore. It is easily treated- see you MD.

Sore nipples: The most common reason for sore nipples is improper latch by the infant. However, this would be unusual to occur at 3 months. If you haven't noticed a change in how baby sucks, then suspect either a yeast or bacterial infection of nipple. See doc or lactation consultant to see which is case and for treatment. In interim, brief use of nipple shield may get you through.
