Depends: We find bovine milk an easy way to get kids the calcium they need for proper bone growth. Some cultures use cheese from cows or goats to meet this need after weaning. The need for calcium cannot be met by vegetables or similar foods and extends through the teen years into adulthood. Failure to keep up with this need during childbearing can lead to bone loss in women.
