WHY?: Do you have problems with capsules? If you are trying to get the meds to work faster, that probably will not work. Most article say that 10mg Melatonin is probably too much and will not help more than lower doses, and should be taken hours before bed to help relax at bedtime.

It depends: It depends on the capsule formulation. Some capsules are mad to release medications or vitamins over a certain time period, while others dissolve relatively quickly. If you are not having a problem taking the capsule, I would recommend staying with the capsule as is. Your best bet is calling the manufacturer of the pill and asking them.
