Not to worry: What matters after delivery is the baby and mother's health. Since placenta is discarded, it becomes consequential if there are obvious sign of disease which can be recognizable to your OB doctor and would be reported for any action required. Congratulation and hopefully you are planning to breast feed.

Okay: Without more specifics about the placenta I can't really say. The placenta generally looks strange, like a dark blob of jelly. As long as the baby is eating active and having bowels movements
