Need more info: What may have happened is the you scratched the bite and caused a little irritation that may have drawn blood and then formed a scab. Most scabs will fall off by themselves on 7-10 days. It's important to see your family physician and have him/her examine your leg to make sure there is no underlying infection.

I am 41 years old. I received a very small wound in early-Aug on my ankle, it quickly scabbed over to begin healing. By mid-Aug it was a bit red, I applied triple antibiotic. Redness cleared by end of month. The scab is still there. Concerned?
