An Annular Annoyance: Annular erythema doesn't mean it comes once a year. There are supposedly many causes that have to be investigated including bugs, drugs, foods and some more serious illnesses. That's for you and your doctor to figure out. In the meantime, topical steroids may quell some of the redness and other symptoms, like itching or burning. Often it will go away on its own, or with the help of the steroid.
