Sometimes: A rapid heart rate can sometimes cause a sensation of chest pain. On the other hand, things that cause chest pain can elevate your heart rate. I think it would be wise to see your doctor and have it evaluated with and EKG and possibly a monitor worn for 24 hours to check for abnormal heart rhythms or other potentially harmful causes of the symptoms.
