Minimal: There is a minimal risk of an adverse reaction to methylprednisolone compared to the benefit of the anti-inflammatory effects of the medication for your surgery. Unless you have had an adverse reaction to steroids in the past, it is very safe.

Not to worry: One infusion of methylprednisolone will have the hoped for anti-inflammatory effect to make the surgery go well. One or even several infusions of this over a short period will have no adverse effects. Don't worry about this.

No worries.: Not worrisome unless prolonged. Dose is low. Usual for asthma is 1mg/kg. Your adrenal glands will not be suppressed by one IV dose. Your own body makes a coricosteroid called cortisol released each day and during times of stress. It decreases inflammation to prevent rejection of the transplant.
