SVT: If you have svt it can be converted by an IV injection. If its recurrent there are various choices for preventive meds available to your doctor. If the medications aren't adequate there is an ablation procedure that may be successful. There are several good medicines but the choice is by your doc with the knowledge of your individual factors.

Ablation: The preferred treatment for sustained, symptomatic SVT, in most patients, is an ablation since it can be curative (per guideline). Anti arrhythmic medicines also help ameliorate the symptoms but do not lead to a cure. Furthermore, these medications can have negative side effects.

You betcha: Many treatments. It depends on the severity and frequency of the svt and your age and general condition as well as other medical conditions you may have. You should discuss this with your primary care doc, possibly see a cardiologist, or, if necessary, an electrophysiologist for refractory cases.
