Both Lotrimin (clotrimazole) AF and: Lamisil, (terbinafine) or their generic forms are available OTC and should be used consistently 2 times a week for at least 3 weeks, although there should be a response in a few days. Avoid contagion by applying cream with a q-tip. Contagion is usually by direct contact, so cover with a breathable bandage or loose fitting clothing and wash hands after application. Scalp ringworm requires oral Rx.
