Not common, but yes: If a stomach or duodenal ulcer has eroded into an artery,it is possible to have severe bleeding that can kill.It is also possible to have slow bleeding that does not kill.Other complications of ulcers include perforation(a hole through the stomach or duodenum),which can also kill.Ulcers are easier to treat now we have a better understanding of them,& treatment can prevent complications like these.
