Yes: Morphine for severe pain can be dangerous however it is taken, so must always be taken as directed by the prescriber. It can sedate, drop blood pressure, & can suppress breathing, particularly for people with breathing problems like asthma or COPD or obstructive sleep apnea. Injectable morphine injected under the skin can cause irritation, but same side effects otherwise.
