Caution: Nutritional supplements for muscle development can be dangerous if the kidneys are overloaded with too much protein. Most people can achieve adequate results by dietary modification, without the extra expense and risk.

Protein supplements: Protein supplements are generally safe and healthy, unless too much is consumed per day; - limit grams of protein to less than 1.5 gram/kg body weight per day - even 1.5 is extreme -- optimal protein is 0.8 to 1.2 gram per kg body weight per day.
