See your dentist. : Have your dentist examine the area for anything lodged between your teeth. They have a better view of the area with their tools , light , magnification and feel. This impaction can lead to serious periodontal conditions. Hot salt water rinses may help to soothe the gums. Tablespoon of salt in half glass of hot water, rinse and hold for 30 sec., twice daily.
