Potassium: Potassium is the most important ion affecting your heart's conduction. Low potassium increases your risk of recurrent atrial fibrillation as well as other rhythm disturbances (PVCs). If you're on a diuretic, monitoring potassium is crucial. Flecainide is not the primary issue but low potassium can interfere with flecainide's efficacy.
