A member asked:

Does cymbalta (duloxetine) help with hot flashes or does it cause them? i'm seeing mixed reviews. i have severe hot flashes now. i don't want them to get worse!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Both: In some people it helps and in others it helps. It is not one of the non-hormonal treatments shown to help with menopausal hot flashes but it is used for depression and some of the chronic pain syndromes. If you have one of those problems it is worth trying and can be stopped if the hot flashes worsen. The most important thing is why you are having the hot flashes. That can determine what helps.
