If dehydrated: If you are able to keep up with the fluid losses you can wait the diarrhea out. You should first try to take in only clear liquids for 24 hours and make sure you are keeping up with the water loss in the stool. You can then add bananas, rice and tea to harden the stool. If this does not resolve the diarrhea, you should see a doctor. Go sooner if dehydrated i.e. not having urine output.

Diarrhea?: If your stool is very loose and watery, and going frequently, this would be defined as diarrhea. Most diarrhea, such as that caused by a viral gastroenteritis or perhaps food poisoning. Be sure to replace fluids and electrolytes. If this problem persists beyond a week, you should see a doctor for evaluation. Good luck!
