A member asked:

I've had a low acth level for over a year 5, cortosil level of 8, i've been to two different endos and no one seems to have an answer any suggestion ?

Could be normal: Hi. The adrenals are notoriously difficult to test due to diurnal variation, and testing is directed by clinical suspicion. If neither endo sees a problem, you have to accept there probably is not a problem. Of the two tests (ACTH & cortisol), ACTH is the tricky one to measure. The only standard is 8 AM, and if the 8 AM cortisol is normal (like 8), then by default, ACTH is normal. Good luck.
