A member asked:

What does an iron level of 13; hct of 36.5; wbc of 4.4; neutro of 67; lymph of 22.1; and protein of 8.3 indicate? tonsillitis and enlarged nodes.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

More info needed: An iron level of of 13 is low. Hct of 36. is normal with normal white cell count and normal lymphocyte count. The total protein may be slightly high, depending on the reference lab. The tonsillitis and enlarged nodes may represent a viral infection with a normal white count. At any rate the patient needs to be seen and placed on iron replacement, especially if having normal menses . Good luck
