Some side effects: Etanercept (the generic name for enbrel), prescribed as a primary treatment to reduce the pain, swelling, and tenderness of joints and able to prevent progressive destruction of joints, sometimes causes mild to moderate itching of the skin at the side of the injection. It can also cause mild headaches, dizziness, and irritation of the nasal passages and the throat.
