Desserts: After 6 months, i is okay to experiment giving small amounts of ice cream, cake, puddings and fruits. However, be careful not to introduce too many sweets. It is more about lifestyle than about reactions to desserts. :)

Not a little adult: Babies are not small adults and you should NEVER assume they have the need to be entertained by their food or get desserts. If you want to hard wire babies brain to be crave sugar, go ahead. You would not notice much until they battle their weight as a 4- 8 yo. Consult healthychildren.org for basic guidelines on healthy living.
