Adverse effects: omeprazole can cause liver impairment, severe skin reactions, inflammation of the pancreas, kidney disease, bone fractures, low magnesium, gastritis, infections of the bowel and diarrhea. More common side effects are headache, abdominal pain, diarrhea, vomiting, flatulence, fever and urinary infection.
