Will singulair (montelukast) help with wheezing?

Singulair (montelukast): Singulair (montelukast) is used as a preventative medication for allergic rhinitis and asthma, but will not help stop active wheezing. Use an albuterol inhaler (Ventolin, Proair) for shortness of breath, wheezing and asthma related coughing instead.
