Allergies asthma: both can be effective but when you use them is different as the albuterol is a rescue therapy and singular is to reduce the daily symptoms

Depends : Montelukast (Singulair (montelukast)) works well in some patients, but inhaled steroids (Asmanex is one of several) are more reliably effective, in general. Singulair (montelukast) has the advantage of helping nasal and eye allergies, too. Always start with a emergency inhaler like albuterol first. All three are prescription; discuss side effects w/ provider.
