Time will tell: 5 months is not long enough to tell if there is a fertility issue. Keep trying and keep track of her ovulation days (there are several smart phone apps that will even alert you when those days are). If after a year, you are still not having any luck, see a fertility medicine specialist. Hope this helps!

Fertile?: the best way is to have a semen analysis to check your sperm count and the quality of the sperm. This is the easiest first step.
