Yes,but atypical: Atypical presentations to common problems in medicine and surgery occurs but not very often. If the blockage from a hernia is partial, slowly progressive to allow compensation and not associated with peritoneal inflammation it may have very few to no symptoms at times, however the condition will soon go over a tipoff point and symptoms of incarceration and ultimately strangulation will develop.
