Association of hiv and reactive arthritis?

There is: There is an association as HIV can cause a picture similar to reactive arthritis (Reiter's syndrome). However, HIV remains a very rare cause in the general population.

Possibly: As an active HIV clinician, I have seen several HIV patients who have had reactive arthritis, but it is not clear if HIV has a part to do with the onset of it. It is also not necessarily a common phenomenon. Some research suggests that there may be an association, but in my opinion, it remains unclear. About 60-70% of my patients likely have some form of arthritis, but difficult to distinguish.
