Varies: A calcified renal cyst has a slightly higher rate of malignant conversion. Management involves interval imaging to assess for changes.

Cyst and stone: This is not dangerous but can cause symptoms and bleeding; operation not essential; ask your doctor if more than one cyst is present; ask if stone is part of cyst or separate; ask if more than one stone exists; then ask for 24 hour urine analysis to assess chemistry of urine - to determine why stone formed.
