Abnormal gait- Yes!: A foot injury or fracture can easily lead to abnormal gait or walking patterns and secondarily cause knee pain as the muscles are used in an abnormal fashion resulting in pain and overuse. Lateral knee pain may be from a tight/irritated iliotibial band as it rides across the lateral femoral condyle and inserts onto the top of the tibia. Evaluation by your orthopaedic surgeon is indicated.
