Dermatology appt: It sounds like the structure/rash was infected which is why it hurt and it improved with antibiotics. The question now is what is the underlying "lump". Is it a nevus of some sort, a trapped hair follicle, a sebaceous cyst? For "lumps" visual inspection is key. See a dermatologist.
