A member asked:

I have a tsh of 6.45 and t4, free of 1.1 what does this mean? and how should i adapt my diet to avoid taking any synthetic hormones?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You might have to,,,: You might have to take thyroid pills because although the free T4 is in low normal range, the TSH is definitely too high and it looks like it needs to be high to produce a normal thyroid output. So it appears to be the beginnings of or hypothyroidism. You should see your doctor to discuss these results and treatment options as there could be other causes and more tests may be needed. Good luck
