It helps many things: Many people find a hot drink in the morning stimulates the bowels. Lemon and honey in hot water seems to stimulates mucus production in the intestine, aiding in flushing of toxins. It also seems to aid this mucus flushing in the respiratory tract during a cold. Other consipation helps include bulkier stools with dietary fiber (bran, whole grains, veggies, fruit), water, and exercise.

For constipation: try Senna. Senna is a very safe natural plant product with a wide dosage range. Start by taking 2 tablets at bedtime, if you do not have a comfortable bowel movement (BM) the next day, take 4 tablets the next night. You can continue to increase the dose by 2 tablets every night until it works (up to 16). It is safe and effective to continue taking the dose that works for you every night.

Hot water with honey: Drinking hot water with honey in the morning should help. Taking senna everyday is not a good idea, but once in a while is okay for constipation. For chronic constipation, drink lot of water/fluid, increase quantity of fibers in your meals, avoid fried foods, exercise regularly (daily walk for 30 to 40 minutes), chew food well before swallowing, increase vegetables/ fruits, and eat small quantity
