Why we feel goosebumps when the weather is cold. what are the causes?

Make your fur thick!: The goosebumps are where you have hair follicles. Presumably your inner, ancient self is trying to fluff up its fur to stay warm. At least that's one possibility. Or possibly it's to increase surface area and catch more sunlight. There may be other reasons. My zoology degree is far in the past.
