Atypical pain: Generally momentary pains that come and go - as long as they don't increase in frequency, duration, or severity are nothing to worry about. What causes them is more of a difficult question. Generally sharp intermittent, fleeting pains in the chest are trapped air/gas, muscle spasm, esophagus spasm, among other things. Hope that helps.
