See an Otologist: If the ear and side of pain were the same as your history of facial nerve decompression which was done through the ear and mastoid you need to see an ENT doc. In the meantime take ibuprofen 400mg every 6 hours

If it is gone now it may have been "gas" which occasionally can cause reflux into the nasopharynx, throat and block the Eustachian tube. If the ear is clear now it doesn't need treatment, but use ranitadine OTC daily if it recurs.
