No and Depends: During your period your uterus is shedding its internal lining, preventing implantation of an egg. So under normal circumstances an egg will not be fertilized during active menstruation. As for the duration of your periods, this varies among women from several days with light flow to a week with heavy flow. Everyone is different. Suggest establishing care with an OB to further discuss these issues
